Grandmother goes to jail for slapping granddaughter

I think Terry Collier had the right to slap her granddaughter. Her granddaughter Felicia, deserved it. Terry was helping her by letting her use her computer after getting kicked out of school and taken online courses. Felicia should have seen it coming after swearing many times to Terry. Everyone comes to a breaking point and Felicia had it coming after bad mouthing the family.

I don't think Felicia learned anything yet from this. She should respect her elders and specially not hit them. That slap should teach her to get her act together because clearly shes not going anywhere in life.

Do you think the students wearing the clothing with the American Flags should have been sent home?

i disagree with the students being sent home. There should never be a problem with being patriotic. Even though other students were celebrating their heritage, we are in America. People should show respect for other country's independence day, but this is not the case, Cino De Mayo celebrates the victory of the Mexicans verse the French and not there independence day like on September 16Th. i don't think just those students wearing American flag shirts should of been sent home which is why i think think the school didn't handle it well. overall, this incident is ridiculous.

Tennessee Williams

Thomas Lanier Williams was born on March 26, 1911 in Columbus, Mississippi. He died on February 25, 1983. Three of his most acclaimed plays were A Streetcar Named Desire(1947), The Glass Menagerie, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1955). He won two Pulitzer Prizes and a New York Drama Critics' Circle Award. A Streetcar Named Desire was about the downfall of a woman living with delusions of grandeur. The Glass Menagerie was about a poet trapped in a mundane existence and his dysfunctional family. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof was about the story of the relationship between a gigolo and a fading actress and in part with the dysfunctional Southern family. Two details that I found that were interesting was that William's family were models for many characters in his plays and the writing of short stories was his escape from his unhappy adolescence.

Death of a Salesman on Worksheet Two.

Willy and Biff has an interesting relationship. Willy is easily angered and has high expectations for his son. Biff trys very hard for the satisfcation from his father. He also trys to get his attention. For example, Biff told his dad how he will score a touchdown for him, showed his shows that had a school logo on them, and how he lost weight. Willy wants Biff to succeed as a successful business man. But Willy was disappointed by Biff working on a farm and not knowing what he wants to do with his life. Willy and Biff don't have the typical father and son relationship. Overall, Willy and Biff don't see eye to eye.

What three aspects of Miller's life did you find significant or interesting?

Arthur Miller's life had many significant facts. First off, he was married to Marilyn Monroe. This was interesting because now it seems like Marilyn Monroe was married a lot. Another fact is that he wrote the play that we are reading now in class which was the Death of a Salesman. Lastly, Arthur lived a long life since he was born in 1915 and died in 2005. Overall, Arthur Miller is not that interesting.
